Now in their thirteenth year, The Australian Business Awards are an annual all-encompassing awards program which recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement via a set of comprehensive award categories.
TAFE Queensland Chief Executive Officer Mary Campbell said the award recognises TAFE Queensland’s achievements in providing vocational education and training design and delivery services to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
“We are delighted and honoured to be selected as an ABA100 Winner for Service Excellence [SXA] in the Australian Business Awards 2018,” Mrs Campbell said.
“TAFE Queensland is Queensland's largest, most experienced training provider delivering practical, industry-relevant training to more than 120,000 students each year.
“We are regarded as one of the best training providers in Australia and this award is a wonderful acknowledgement of our capabilities in providing large-scale customised skilling solutions to respond to the complex workforce needs of the many businesses we work with.
“The award acknowledges the work we did for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games – the development and delivery of a bespoke, innovative and contemporary training solution to 15,000 volunteers and complementary leadership training to Games staff,” she said.
Australian Business Awards Program Director Tara Johnston said, “With technology rapidly evolving, it is essential that organisations remain ahead of the curve by continuously exploring and embracing new technologies and investing in the education, training and development of their workforce in order remain competitive.”
“High performing organisations that have adopted an innovation culture to achieve optimal levels of productivity and performance have been recognised in this year’s ABA100,” she said.
Each year the ABA100 Winners are recognised for their commitment to business and product innovation and for their achievements in transforming business practices and end user experiences.
Organisational participation includes private companies, publicly listed companies, multi-national subsidiaries, non-government organisations, educational institutions, franchise systems, partnerships, government departments, government agencies, local government and statutory bodies operating in Australia.
The World Business Awards Framework (WBA Framework) is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.
The Framework consists of specialised assessment modules pertaining to the evaluation criteria for each of the award categories. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.
Organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement are recognised via a set of established business and product award categories.
The process culminates in the selection of organisations which implement world-class business initiatives, projects, products and services. The award recipients are recognised as the elite of their industry earning a place amongst a distinguished group by having their achievements acknowledged and celebrated.
