How does it work?

Eligible applicants who already hold a vocational education and training (VET) qualification can access a training subsidy to upskill in identified priority courses for their region. The subsidy will help students on their employment pathway, ensuring they can participate in the future workforce without the cost of full-fee training.

Who is eligible? 

Anyone who already holds a certificate III-level qualification, or has exhausted their first Queensland Government training subsidy, and studies one of the nominated qualifications is eligible to receive Skills Boost funding. No age or time limits apply.

You must:

• be a Queensland resident;
• be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students); and
• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.

What training is available?

Subsidies are available for a select number of certificate III, IV and diploma qualifications critical to productivity within local regional areas.
